Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need experience to join the Learn 2 Play program?

No experience is necessary! The Learn 2 Play program is designed for beginners and first-time players. We’ll teach you everything from holding the paddle to playing your first game — in a supportive, fun environment.

How do I know which training program is right for me?

If you’re brand new to pickleball, start with Learn 2 Play. If you’ve been playing socially or casually and want to improve your skills or prepare for competition, our Developing Recreational Players program is for you. If you’re unsure of your skill level, we recommend starting with a DUPR Coach-Assisted Assessment Clinic.

What is a DUPR Coach-Assisted Rating, and why do I need one?

It’s an official rating given by a certified coach based on your live performance. It helps place you in the right training group or competitive division. You’ll need it to enter DUPR-based leagues, tournaments, and advanced clinics. It’s ideal for players without a current DUPR match history.

Do I need to bring equipment to the clinic or training session?

We provide paddles and balls for all Learn 2 Play sessions. For other clinics, you’re encouraged to bring your own paddle. Balls are always provided. If you’re participating in an assessment clinic, don’t forget to bring your phone with your DUPR account set up.
